Connected Educators Collaboration Challenge

bigstock_Teamwork_194204.jpgJoin with educators from around the world and take the Connected Educators Collaboration Challenge.
We are writing a quick get-started guide for educators to learn how to connect that we can all freely share, use, print, and download. So many of us are being asked "how do I get started" - let's don't write it separately. Let's write it together.

Anyone can join. Bring in your class, your group - we just want to be done by the end of August with a usable tool. Whether we write a little or a lot is up to how many join in. We will make the pages after we see how many sign up and what we can do!

Upcoming Events that will mention or be used as resources for this project.

What Will You Do?

If you take the challenge, you'll be assigned to a team to write about one of the many ways that educators can collaborate. You'll have a week to work with your partners and write the most up to date information about how you can connect. This is being modeled after the K12 Online 2006 wiki project where Julie Lindsay (@julielindsay) and Vicki Davis (@coolcatteacher) met and after the innovative, grassroots practices and work ethic shared by Taking IT Global and the Flat Classroom Projects. We'll host a connection celebration where we share what we've learned and recognize excellence.

Dates: Kickoff: August 16 4:30 - 5:30 pm EDT (CEM info online for meeting location)
Dates for Editing: August 23-30, 2012 (but if you wish to edit sooner, go ahead once you're assigned to a team)
Celebration: August 30 4:30 - 5:30pm EDT

The Kickoff Meeting Archive

This is part of Connected Educator Month Celebration for August 2012 and any educator can join in! The first step to "flatten" your classroom (as shared in Flattening Classrooms, Engaging Minds) is to CONNECT yourself. Flat Classroom® and TakingITGlobal are two organizations who are passionate about helping educators connect with each other!

What Will You Do?

If you take the challenge, you'll be assigned to a team to write about one of the many ways that educators can collaborate. You'll have a week to work with your partners and write the most up to date information about how you can connect. You will be 'assessed' using the Collaboration Challenge Rubric.

Project Pages

Following are the planned topics for the Connected Educators Collaboration Challenge.
Depending upon the sign ups, some pages may be combined, or others split apart to give more flexibility. If you have a suggestion for a topic, please make it on the sign up page. Thank you! Our hope is to create a simple, easy to use, up-to-date guidebook to help educators during the 2012-2013 school years. These will be done as "collaborative projects" so more than one page can be created but to prevent having to create and remove projects, they will be posted when the competition goes live. A project on a wiki functions like an independent wiki allowing the creation of pages and freedom to work and format as you wish.
